Altınkum, Didim's hotel strip
Altınkum is Didim's famous beach and home to most of its hotels. According to Didim Municipality, its fine golden sand stays clean thanks to the currents and has earned the Blue Flag many times; a promenade, restaurants and nightlife line the seafront. Altınkum beach is 4.1 km from Didim centre, about 9 minutes.
When you'll want a taxi
- Airports: Bodrum Airport is 64.2 km on the short route (79.4 km via Lake Bafa); Izmir Airport 143.1 km.
- Late nights: from the seafront back to your hotel or villa.
- Day trips: the Temple of Apollo, D-Marin marina, Akbük's bays or Miletus.
- Everyday errands: the bus station, the hospital, the market.
